Bottecchia

After 3 years of searching SBR has now chosen and has in stock an extensive selection of the Italian Made range.  Starting from $2100.00 you can become part of a legend in cycling.

The range is named after Ottavio Bottecchia who not only was the first Italian to win the Tour De France way back in 1924, but he was also the first rider to lead the race from the opeing stage to the winners podium in Paris. This amazing feat has not been repeated over the last 85 years.

Not content with this he fronted up the next year and won again.

In 1926 Ottavio established the Bottecchia brand.  The factory is located just to the north of Venice and all bikes are painted and assembled in the main factory.  Unlike other Italian brands that are better known in Australia, Bottecchia bikes have a 10 year frame warranty ( most of the others are as low as two years)  this also gives piece of mind for the consumer.

Some of you may also recognise Bottecchia as the brand that Greg Lemond rode to his first of many victories in the 1988 Tour De France.

I have been riding the 8avio (Octavio) for the last couple of months and have found it to be one of the best bikes that I have ever ridden. Amongst other things the distinctive styling and graphics stands out in the crowd in what in many cases is a lot of copy cats and clones out on the road at the moment.

The morning crew at Café Racer on Beach Road were very interested on the occasion that it was hanging out the front.  The frame is super stiff but designed to minimise road shock and vibration from the rear stays.

So come down and see something different.
